Work
ViiV Healthcare's Hive Innovation Unit
I led a group of four experts through an "innovation sprint" for ViiV Healthcare's hive innovation unit, designing ideas to address the unmet needs of people living with HIV in the US. Our proposal for a peer support app was selected by an executive panel for pilot implementation. I am currently overseeing the pilot for this program, which is now running in the US and known as PeerStrong.
For a second sprint I led a new group of experts in designing ways to drive a sustained increase in HIV testing in the US. An executive panel also chose to invest in a pilot for this proposal, which is based on a variation of the Social Network Strategy of HIV testing, and the pilot is now running in the state of Virginia.
HelpSteps
HelpSteps.com is a set of web-based screening and referral tools designed to help individuals and families identify their social needs and connect with local agencies best-suited to meet those needs. The search tools, their survey engine and user management tools have been used in multiple research studies conducted at Boston Children's Hospital and other institutions, including some to see if it's a good idea to screen people for social needs and connect them to local agencies for help.
(Spoiler: it is.)
My work on HelpSteps included design and code for the full stack, UX/UI design and coding, testing, writing copy, design & production of printed materials, research and survey design, logo design, quality assurance, customer/stakeholder communications, business development, server administration, database design and maintenance, documentation, presentations, and whatever else came up.
TriVox Health
TriVox Health is a web-based platform that provides remote monitoring, real-time analysis, and tracking of patients' disease symptoms and response to therapy over time. We built content modules enabling health providers to monitor multiple diagnoses, including side-effects of drug therapies and other interventions. This project is, technically and philosophically, an extension of the HelpSteps core, and also based at Boston Children's Hospital. I was thouroughly involved in all aspects of its development, from conceptual design to user experience and interfaces to database design and writing code.
